Our lunch venue is on the River Thames aboard the historic ship ‘the Hispaniola’ (moored). Great food with wonderful views from the river. This afternoon a visit to Winston Churchill’s War Rooms and a short stroll to Horse Guards and 10 Downing Street. This evening our first West End production.
Oct. 30, DAY 3 - This morning, we visit the showrooms of Bonhams on Bond Street for a preview of the veteran cars and automobilia that will be auctioned this afternoon/early evening. We leave most of this day to enjoy the upscale shopping areas of Bond Street, Oxford St & Regent St, or to visit the exciting areas of Carnaby and Soho. We have admittance for the Bonhams Auction scheduled for 4:00 pm.
Oct. 31, DAY 4 - The thrill of the London to Brighton starts this morning. In Regent Street, all the cars are on display (see photo). Bands and hoopla draw hundreds of people to the event. At Noon we stroll (or taxi) down to Pall Mall and the prestigious Royal Automobile Club for the event attendants private lunch. Late afternoon we return to the hotel. This evening we have our second West End production.
Nov. 1, DAY 5 - An early start this morning. We head to Hyde Park and the official start of the run. Once all the cars have left, we board our double-decker bus and follow the cars along the route. Halfway we stop for refreshment and chat with some of the entrants before continuing to the Brighton seafront. The first cars arrive among cheering onlookers, and gradually the field follows, some may not make it! We have a light afternoon lunch, and there will also be time to visit the famous Victorian Pier. As the afternoon wears on, we return to our bus and head back to London. This evening a farewell dinner. Fish and Chips English style, at a centuries-old Inn.
Nov. 2, DAY 6 - Following breakfast, we transfer you back to Heathrow. We can also drop those who are staying on at their locations.
